1. NEW EVANZ WEBSITE – The new site www.evanz.co.nz is now up and running and is live. Many of you have updated your venue information on the Sparks Interactive Test site over the past couple of weeks – thank you. All member venues are listed with contact details and other information taken from the old site. Please check your details and edit as required. We urge you to post current images and logos on the new site. If you don’t have time please email the images and logo in jpeg format to admin@evanz.co.nz and we will do it for you.
Access to the members section has changed on the new site - To log into the members’ section for the first time you will need to establish your own password. Click on request new password and enter your email address. We have loaded all email contact addresses. If your address is not recognised please email admin@evanz.co.nz. Presently your venue's editor’s name is linked to your venue for editing purposes. If you want to change this to another person at your venue/s please advise by emailing admin@evanz.co.nz.
2. EVANZ CONFERENCE – “Story Telling” – This year’s conference was very successful and EVANZ would like to thank our Hamilton hosts for putting on a wonderful show. Feedback has been very positive. Utilising the redeveloped Claudelands facilities for the conference proved popular. 90 delegates attended - 74 venue representatives (52 venues represented) and 16 associate, sponsor and trade representatives.
The presentations were excellent and these can found on the website in the members section in the meetings and conferences section.
3. EVANZ EXECUTIVE – The new Executive is as follows:

Melanie Smith The Edge
Nelita Byrne TSB Showplace
Richard Sutherland Hamilton City Theatres
At the first Executive meeting after the AGM Dale Henderson was elected President. Nelita Byrne was welcomed to the Executive and Craig Goodall was thanked for his contribution to the Executive over the past five years.

4. SCHOLARSHIPS:
The Edge Scholarship 2012 – Andrea Brigden Hawkes Bay Opera House and Steffen Gehder Nelson School of Music have been awarded The Edge Scholarships for 2012.
Positively Wellington Venues Scholarship 2012 – Chad Hooker Hamilton Venues and Amanda Miller Events Venues Rotorua have been awarded the Positively Wellington Venues Scholarship for 2012.
Forsyth Barr Stadium (Dunedin Venues) Event Scholarship – The successful applicants this year were Megan Dixon Eden Park and Shaun Wijnstok North Harbour Stadium. Both took their scholarship during the Elton John concert at our newest stadium.
The Eden Park Event Scholarship – The recipients in 2011 were Ashleigh Simpson North Harbour Stadium and David Casey Waikato Stadium
Priava VMS Scholarship – In 2011 this was awarded to Richard Sutherland Hamilton City Theatres.
EVANZ appreciates the support of the above members offering scholarships to member venues and applications for the above scholarships will be sent out at the appropriate times in 2012.
5. NATIONAL STATISTICS – We are still trying to collect 2010 stats which we hope to release early 2012.
