    We are currently looking to appoint an experienced Audio-Visual (AV) Manager to lead the AV team at Te Pae Christchurch. In this dynamic role, you will deliver all AV requirements for events at Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre through the effective management of the AV Department. 

    This is a senior position at Te Pae Christchurch and as the AV Manager, you will ensure world-class audio-visual services, quality delivery, and seamless coordination through effective planning, floor management, and close collaboration with multiple departments to deliver to client and guest requirements.

    Key Duties

    • Overall management of Te Pae Christchurch’s audio-visual services through a mix of in-house and external suppliers.

    • Manage the AV sales process collaborating with the business development and planning departments of Te Pae Christchurch.

    • Develop excellent relationships with all Te Pae Christchurch business units and team members through appropriate communication and a positive attitude.

    • Through effective leadership, the fostering of relationships and the constructive flow of communication, maintain a high performing and motivated team.

    • Assist with implementation of Te Pae Christchurch’s Business Plan.

    • Develop, implement and maintain departmental systems, policies and procedures.

    • Manage budgets, financials and cost control.

    • Ensure collaboration with and integration of external business partners, including clear communication of services, policies, processes and team culture.

    The successful applicant will:

    • Have a minimum of five years recent management experience in a similar AV, production or event planning role.

    • Possess suitable AV certifications or equivalent work experience in a similar field.

    • Have experience in a convention centre environment or large venue, arena or stadium.

    • Be solutions-oriented with extensive experience in problem solving and client liaison.

    • Be experienced in leading and motivating teams to meet client needs and deliver excellence.

    • Be a collaborative leader with excellent communication skills at all levels.

    • Have the ability to influence and negotiate with key stakeholders to achieve advantageous outcomes.

    • Possess the ability to think strategically, with an analytical and creative approach to problem solving.

    The role requires flexible working hours, the ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.  Salary will be commensurate with experience.

    Applicants must have New Zealand or permanent residency. 

    The successful applicant will be required to provide a Criminal History Check.
