    Two Permanent Full Time Positions Available in Napier

    McLean Park is Hawke's Bays premium outdoor sporting stadium playing home to the Central District Stags and the Hawkes Bay Magpies. The Park regularly holds international fixtures which includes the Black Caps, White Ferns and Super Rugby. The Park has just held Six60, the first of many concerts to come and in 2023 will play host to the first ever Warriors NRL game at the park.

    With the strategic planning for the future of McLean Park underway. Two exciting opportunities have become available for energetic individuals with enthusiasm and specific focus towards sports, events or recreation to join our team. You will be responsible for the coordination and integration of activity, delivery support and event management for McLean Park and Centennial Events Centre.

    With Sports and Events being what we do, no day is the same at McLean Park. Having fun and all pitching in to ensure the presentation of the venue is beyond expectation celebrating the success of each event through solid team work.


    Venue Event Coordinator

    • Identify client's needs and how they will be best accommodated and importantly how they interact with other functions at the same time, and before or after the event
    • Liaise and co-ordinate with clients during all facets of the planning and organising of events in order to fully understand and implement their requirements (including venue set-ups, technical, catering, ticketing, security, and equipment requirements) delivering exceptional support throughout
    • Manage corporate box requirements per game/booking with service providers to deliver a VIP experience to owners
    • Maximize revenue opportunities for McLean Park and Centennial Events Centre by selling and promoting the event spaces to current and potential clients for conferences, meetings and corporate/private functions and sporting events

    Venue Operations Coordinator

    • Work with existing sport users of Centennial hall and deliver on their needs for competitions whilst developing our own programs and utilization of the hall around these.
    • Deliver the operational requirements as part of the McLean Park team for events
    • Being responsible for the presentation and maintenance of the Centennial Events Centre, Chapman Pavilion and all buildings within the McLean Park venue with regular reporting of maintenance requirements
    • Ensuring that a high standard of presentation is constantly maintained and set-ups exceed the hirers expectations
    • High responsive and consistent approach to delivery of services for unplanned and emergency obligations

    About you:

    • Have relevant knowledge and experience with sports, Events or recreation programming delivery
    • Exceptional relationship building and interpersonal skills
    • Have a flexible, agile and engaging approach towards all aspects of the role
    • Be available to work after hours, weekends, public holidays as the need arises
    • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure
